- Great groups are most effective in inspiring creative collaboration when there are alternating cycles of positive affirmation and critical disagreement.
- Pirate mentality + revolutionary/anti-establishment bonding might be a uniquely masculine quality?
- Transference (the Freudian term) is an extremely important part of social dynamics, and actually forms an anti-fragile group "culture" which exists on the subsurface, and is more than any of the individuals (it can almost be a coercive force, which acts separately from the will of individuals)
- It is very very difficult to teach people new mental models (new ways of thinking), especially in areas where they are avoidant
- How great groups fail is just as important as how they succeed.
- Great groups (because of how important they are for peoples self image) are also places where people want to feel sexy / at their best.
